The NHCP led by Chairman Emmanuel Franco Calairo unveiled the historical marker, “Sheik Karimol-Makhdum Mosque in Tubig-Indangan, Simunul, Tawi-Tawi” last Tuesday, 7 November 2023.
Chairman Calairo officially turned over the marker to Simunul Mayor Wasilah T. Abdurahman. NHCP Deputy Executive Director Alvin R. Alcid witnessed the signing of the certificate of transfer. Mayor Abdurahman delivered her acceptance message afterwards and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman also gave a speech.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
