An interim ceasefire agreement has been signed in Jakarta between the MNLF and the Philippine government. The accord also set up a committee to tackle the problems of Muslims in Mindanao. 75 rebels of the MNLF Lost Command, a term used for a radical splinter group of the MNLF headed by Abu Sayyaf, surrendered to the government after 4 months of negotiations.
