A gunman threw a grenade into a mosque in the southern Philippines, eight hours after explosions inside a nearby Roman Catholic Church killed 7 people and wounded 151 others. No one claimed responsibility for the church attack, but it is believed to be the work of the MNLF Lost Command, which is trying to derail the peace talks (UPI, 12/27/93).
